To register, view events, enroll, and attend CTD classes, do the following.
If you are on http://customertraining.verizonbusiness.com click the CALNET 2 link for California state government employees.
-OR-
You are already on the CALNET 2 landing page http://customertraining.verizonbusiness.com/calnet2.
This landing page provides excellent information about the training, including course descriptions and a calendar. However, to actually enroll in events, you must continue these steps.
Click the Login link.
The Log In page displays.
If you are a new user, click the Create new Customer Training account link in the New User section at the top.
The Create a New User Account page displays. Fill in the form and click the Create button at the bottom of the page. You can reuse your portal login/password if you wish, but the systems do not share information.
-OR-
If you are a returning user, fill in the Login/UserName and Password fields in the Log In section and click the Log In button.
The My Schedule page displays.
Note: If you check or
have previously checked the Remember
me checkbox, you will skip the Log
In page entirely.
Click the Event List link in the left navigation.
The Event List page displays.
Near the middle of the page, select the CALNET 2 folder.
Two additional folders display. Physical Classroom is for courses held in brick-and-mortar classrooms. Virtual Classroom is for courses held in the virtual classroom application.
Click Physical Classroom or Virtual Classroom, as appropriate.
The Event List page displays Events (AKA Classes or Courses) in a list format at the bottom of the screen.
Note: Any CALNET 2 customer
can attend classes for our commercial customers. The Networx classes are
for employees of the federal government only.
(Optional) There are options to adjust how many classes display per page and/or to move from page to page. In addition, there are Search fields to search by Event Name and Start Date.
When you have found the class you want to take, click the Enroll link on the right side of the line with the Event information.
The word Enroll will change to Enrolled to indicate the enrollment was successful. In addition, the Event will now display on your My Schedule page. You will also receive a confirmation email sent to the email address you entered when creating your user account. Continue enrolling in classes, as desired.
The My Schedule page (top link in the left navigation) is your personal home page, the place to determine the classes in which you are enrolled, and where you will go to launch virtual classes.
If you want to remove yourself from an Event, simply click the Unenroll link next to the class name.
The Event will be removed from your My Schedule page and you are no longer enrolled.
If you are attending a course held in a physical classroom, the remaining steps are not required. However, many of the classes are actually held using this same software. There are additional steps you need to take before attending a virtual classroom Event.
In the banner on any CTD Web page, click the Software Download link.
The Centra software will initiate a System Check and install the client. If any part of the System Check fails or if the System Check fails to complete, please contact CTD for assistance. You will probably not be able to attend classes until the issue is resolved.
To Attend training, about 15 minutes before class, go back to the landing page and log in per the instructions above. When you get to the My Schedule page, click on the Attend link that is below the event's Start Time.
The Centra software will launch the virtual classroom.
Call the audio bridge telephone number displayed in the Audio Wizard, followed by the Access Code once the automated attendant answers.
This connects you to the instructor and other students for the audio portion of the class.
When the class ends, hang up on the audio bridge and close the virtual classroom.
To log out, click the Log Out link in the left navigation.
